people always tell me these movies are funny...caddyshack,blues bros.,some like it hot-i didnt crack a smile once during any of those movies

sorry old people for making you feel like the old people you are, but all my freinds all think the same thing.and no idont do drugs and animal house was funnier than the other movies but not too funny either-my funniest movies are the 40 year old virgin and the austin powers movies

Most old comedies were based on what was going on at the time, they were funny back then, but if they were before your time, you might not be in on the humor.

You should watch more classics. A lot of the material and concepts that you see in comedies today came, from older comedies. If there wasn't "Some Like It Hot", you wouldn't have movies like "Tootsie", "Mrs. Doubtfire", or garbage like "White Chicks"--all movies about men forcing themselves to become women, to achieve a goal that's out of their manlihood.

Well, it's all subjective, but I might recommend movies such as:
The In-Laws (original), Monty Python and the Holy Grail, and Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, for starters. But there are no guarantees -- I may not like the movies you find to be funny.

it all depends on your personal sense of humor, like a lot of people tell me to go see this movie or that, or to watch this comedian or that one and that they are really funny, and usually i don't laugh at all. No movies come to mind right now, but i don't get what everyone see in that Dane Cook guy at all.

Modern comedy blows, they recycle the same jokes, and they are all similar. Go watch Blazing Saddles and tell me you didn't laugh.

everyone has different sense of humors.
I have a rather dark one myself but you may be more of a modern comedy guy, thats cool though i like the classics or dark-like humor.
