If you are athletic, or ride bikes, jog, work out or do things lke that, you might not start till 16 or 17 but It's unusual. If you have not started by 16 1/2 or 17 I would ask the doctor. There might be a slight internal problem. I know someone like that, and she only had them last 4-5 hours and had tremendous cramps and couldn't have children because she let it go. Seek attention by 17and a half if it hasn't started. In the meantime, Don't worry about it because that will only create stress which won't help

Honey, have no fear, just because you didn't start at the same age as your mother does not mean that anything is wrong. Every woman is different and your body will know when the time is right. Some women will start as early as eight and others as late as eighteen. It all depends on how aggressive your puberty is. If you are very concerned you can always make an appointment at the clinic or with your family docter, but it sounds to me as if you are just a late bloomer, as they say. Be glad that your period hasn't started yet, because once it starts you will wish that it hadn't.

Everyone is different :) If it worries you, go ahead and set up an appointment to talk about this with your doctor. They may decide to run tests to check your hormones, thyroid, etc., or even ultrasound your ovaries to see if you have any cysts or anything that may be preventing you from having a period. Hopefully, one way or another your doc will help to put your mind at ease about this. Good luck!
P.S. Eating disorders and/or excessive exercising can delay the start of your period.

Don't stress girlfriend! I know girls that didn't start until they were 18! And just because mom started way early doesn't exactly mean that you should too. Sometimes being way athletic stunts your "growth" I didn't start until I was 15 because I was a gymnast for so long. There is really no need to stress over it, your body is moving at its own pace and plus you wouldn't want it anyway!

Its high-quality! She is purely letting you comprehend she needs you to be comfortable with telling her once you initiate your era! don't be in a brilliant rush! once you initiate it relatively is not the best feeling in the international! you purely sense bloated, cranky, cramps, and a brilliant yearning for chocolate, and actually all you opt for to do is take a seat around and be lazy! it is assume to be this massive "Oh i'm a woman now!" subject, yet there is no longer something "specific" to being crampy and fat!

The normal age range is 12-17, so your still in there. However, I'd have a mom or aunt take you to the gyno, just to check things out. Chances are you're just a late bloomer, but its better to be safe and check it out.

I don't know how true this is but I heard about this lady who was 34 yrs and she didn't see her period. Maybe it's just not your time! If you are worried then go see a doctor.
