I ate 4 grams of magic mushrooms and went to see the kottonmouth kings and Hed PE in concert and about 45 minutes later had a siezure (I have never had a siezure before). I came to and didnt know where I was and had to lay down for about 15 minutes before I began to peice together what happened, needless to say I quit doing drugs, but I also am a little worried because I dont have insurance and have not been checked out since the episode. Has anyone had or heard of this sort of thing happening, if so should I be worried of future medical complications?

the way i see it: you took about four times as much as you should have taken if you planned on doing anything but sit in a chair. then too, you prolly did other things, maybe had a drink or a beer or three, maybe some smoke. be careful what you mix.

around here we always have a good giggle over the stupid young guy who had to call 911 for an "overdose" of pot, hahaha. seems they were smoking some serious chronic then had several espresso quads (4 shots of espresso ina cup of black coffee). funny. he will never live it down. had a "seizure," and ended up in a hospital, but really, it was just an extreme case of nervous anxiety.

then too, mushrooms can have toxic effects. all kinds of mushrooms. these toxins, if there ever were any, have most likely flushed out of your system. probably what you had was just another case of extreme nervous anxiety. call it a learning experience.

The general answer is that anyone who has a seizure, unless they have a diagnosed seizure disorder, should be checked out by the ER or their doctor. Since seizures are caused by abnormal electrical impulses in the brain, it's pretty likely that the effect of the mushrooms was the cause. All kinds of drugs, including alcohol and prescription drugs, have the potential for inducing seizures. Odds are, if you have quit taking drugs, you will be OK and this will be a frightening learning experience. If you ever have another seizure, though, please get checked out by a doctor.

You should have an EEG which is a test that hooks you up by electrodes to measure your brain waves. I have heard of the same thing happening. It is almost like an allergic reaction to the drug. You should be worried and stay away from any illegal drug. A doctor said once that it was like playing russion roulette. You never know when that bullet will hit. You could have a physical intolerance to certain types of drugs. Also if you have a seizure conditon that has gone undetected you could be in for more seizures in the future.

Could have been a combination of the mushrooms and light flashes at the concert. Unless you have another seizure I wouldn't go through the expense of a Neurologist.

I have a copy of Mushrooms of Colorado and it says, talking about Psilocybe and some species of Gymnopilus, Pluteus, and Panaeolus, "accidentally poisoned small children may experience convulsions and often require hospitalization, but adult subjects usually return to normal four to twelve hours after ingestion." It didn't talk about amounts. If you can identify exactly what kind of mushroom you ate then you can look it up in one of these mushroom books; there's lots of them.

you are probably fine, shrooms are organic anyways, the seizure might only be because of a bad reaction at that point and nothing more.

the worst thing that can happen with mushrooms is to ingest too much and subsequently lose your mind, but that's unlikely with the amount you took that day anyways.

perhaps you might get random flashbacks (as with the use of any other hallucinogen), but that too is rare and seldom, whichever case it is, i doubt you're dealing with a medical condition at all.

chill, doode...

There may be chances that the mushrooms were either not of the "real" kind or they were cultivated in bad soil or mulch (or manure)... Or maybe you do too many shrooms.... stick to the ganja... it's safer (for your head) and you can smoke as much as you want.

whilst some one falls to the floor, that's generally referred to as being slain contained in the Spirit and is physically powerful. The writhing is generally a demon no longer desirous to return out. (Shaking may well be a solid sign). Babbling is generally the Holy Spirit speaking for the duration of the guy in yet another language (speaking in tongues) and is physically powerful.

Having had numerous amounts of seizures, i suggest you see a neurosurgeon. It might cost you but it's better than being dead.
