Does it matter if God is female or male? Would it change the way you believe, would it deplete your faith? According to many relgions if not all, God isn't even human, so why do many people assume that there is a sex assosiated with this higher being? The real question isn't is God a woman or a man, the question is.. Do you belive? And whether you believe in God's existance or not, it is such a trivial and unimportant thing to worry about...it changes nothing.( Although it might deflate a few over inflated egos in the realm of Christianity )

Some gods are male and others are female, this has been the usual trend throughout history.
The Egyptian pharoah Akhenaten was the first person to invent the idea of a single all powerful god , an idea which was later adopted by the Jews, Christians and Muslims in that order.
They usually refer to their god as Lord so they probably consider it to be male otherwise they would use the word Lady.

If God is a male, there must be a female of the same species. Same thing if God is female, there must be a male. Otherwise it wouldn't make sense for God to have the sexual organs of one or the other.

God is what you percieve him/her to be, and a gender for God has not been assigned as such. You could see God in whichever form you want, if you start realising the presence of God in yourself and the others surrounding you. I suppose this question could better be posed to yourself, how do you want God to be(a male or a female), and you would recognise him/her in that very form?

How many litres of love have you got???? Silling question isn't it... coz we don't measure love in litres... it's not an attribute of it! So also God who is above the finiteness of gender will transcend the limiting attributes such as these.... However when we call "Him" we seem to use Masculine gender... this coz God in His ultimate wisdom has chosen to take the form of a Man when He came down to earth to show us the way for 33.5 yrs... Hope you've guessed that I am talking about Jesus...

actually and i say actually, nobody knows. our limited human brain can only speculate that God is either or, neither nor. God is spirit, i think, unbounded by gender or age or time or space. Maybe its what God wants us to believe so that we won't create prejudices against each other.
