You should go to a shop. If you are persistant well you'll fu** your self up so I'll tell you how.
1) Clean your mouth out with listerine
2) wipe the outside of your lip with alchol
3) Mark the outside with a pen
4) If you have forcepts then line it up if not then skip
5) Make sure you have a clean unused needle
6) Stab away make sure your sitting down so you dont have to far to land if you pass out.
Good luck even though I advise against it.
Oh the after care use dial soap to keep the out side clean 3-4 times a day for a week and rinse with listerine everytime you eat drink or smoke for 3 days and then 3x a day for a while.
Be Carefull!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh if you live in Va and need a tatoo or it done let me know, just be careful!

psh all these people saying to go get it done :]
i did it myself a few times last summer, i would let it heal when i was around my mom then redo it when i was on my own.
simple steps -
-ice the whole area for about 5 minutes..unless you're into pain or something, haha.
-get a sterile needle (or buy a new package of safety pins or straight needles, they just need to be clean, i used a safety pin)
-just poke it through! make sure you go in a straight angle, or it'll be really hard to put a stud or ring in.
-leave the needle in for a good 5-10 minutes so your skin will heal AROUND the hole. if you don't, it'll close up before you can get anything in.
i used a simple earring stud, but cut down the end a bit. you can try a ring, i found it REALLY hard to put in! but whatever works!
hope all goes well, happy piercing!

i know in the west indies, people used ice to numb the area to be pierced. it sounds odd, but the ice does numb the area quite well. then they just used a sewing needle to do the piercing. the needle was threaded with sewing thread and it was kept in the area the area that had been pierced so that the hole didn't close. my question is, why don't you go to a professional? wouldn't it be better for something like a lip piercing?

Do NOT do it yourself. It needs to be done by a professional at a good piercing shop. If you do it yourself, you can get an infection, which can scar your face permanently or in worst case, you can get gangrene, which means you lose part of your lips.
Pay the $15 and get it done safely by a pro with a surgical needle.
