The best player would probably have to be Sidney Crosby. He has soo much talent. I have never seen so much talent in a player since Wayne Gretzky. He is like a dream come true for the NHL. I love watching him play. He makes watching hockey fun and exciting. He was the reason that I started to watch hockey. Hope it helps!

The best player in the NHL right now is definitely without a doubt Jaromir Jagr.

Joe Thornton of the Sharks just won the MVP. He's put up a number of very solid seasons in a row. Every team would love to have Joe. His +/- stats have been good for several seasons now.

Forsberg still controls the game better then any other player in the league. Joe Thornton would be my number two and Jagr would be my third choice.

Joe Thronton. He's the complete player with strength, size and grit. He can score as well as defend his own net. And he makes those around him better. He single-handedly brought San Jose into the playoffs.

have to agree with some of the above: jagr, forsberg and ovechkin. but i think brodeur and niitymaki are awsome as well (though i'm not entirely sure niitymaki's even in the NHL yet, but i think he is, he should be anyway, he's one of the best!)
