Acid jazz (also known as groove jazz or more recently club jazz) is a musical genre that combines jazz influences with elements of soul music, funk, disco and also 90s English dance music, particularly repetitive beats and modal harmony. It developed over the 1980s and 1990s and could be seen as taking the boundary crossing of jazz fusion or Jazz-Funk onto new ground.

It's jazzy type music mixed with dance type music. Check out DJ Mark Farina and his Mushroom Jazz CDs.. I like his first 2 collections the best. 3-5 is ok I guess... Theivery Corporation is another good Acid Jazz artist. Other DJs/artists or groups to check out are Orbital, Babble, Sounds From The Ground, Sneaker Pimps, Stereolab, and Zero 7. Some of those are actually Trip Hop, but Acid Jazz and Trip Hop music are usually associated together.
