Can any body tell me who to make chitin or chitosan from shrimp/prawn shell.?

I am from Southern cost in India and we have abundant quantity of prawn and shrimp shell which is dumped in to garbage after the meat is sent for export. I also request your suggestions on how to clean and dry these shells? Is there any mechanised way?
