Many of the scientists in the world are atheists because using the scientific method one cannot prove that there is something called god, soul or ghosts. So, you cannot assume that everyone believes there is a god. Chandrashekar, the renowned cosmologist, was an atheist.
Everyone wants to look after their welfare. If you can find something that will benefit a group of people and if you can explain to them that it would benefit them then that group would agree to it.

Everyone in the world would agree on:
being fed, having clean water to drink, having adequate shelter, safety and medical attention. If we could supply this to everyone in the world (and actually we can, but it is not profitable to do it) we'd see a whole different mindset in people about a lot of things.

i think the most universal theme that almost everyone agrees into is the concepts of love and family. everyone knows love, even though each person has it's on way of relating to love i guess. and everyone comes from a family, so i guess that's also a common thing that everyone could agree on.

to have healthy food for our bellies, clean water to quench our thirst, decent clothes for our backs and a comfortable roof over our heads. Even the most jaded atheist, the most violent criminal and deranged maniac will agree on having all these. Except clothes for the nudists perhaps LOL.
