pentium 3 processor, 256mb ram, 900mhz. it says it supports enhanced intel speedstep technology. what does that mean?

In theory you can overclock any computer. It voids your warranty,creates more instability to your computer due to more heat, and you may "fry" your computer. This relies heavily on the ability to change these settings in the BIOS or the Motherboard. Historically this was done by moving jumpers around on the motherboard. Today this is done more through the BIOS settings. You can access you BIOS at boot by pressing keys similar to (DEL, F2, F8, F12) but this may vary on your computer.

If these options are available, look for processor speed options or clock multiplier and bus speed, but those would be the settings to change. There are softwares that you can download, but they too rely on the BIOS to gain access to these settings. Speed step technology allows your computer to slow its speed to conserve energy when its using the battery compared to when its plugged into a wall socket.

yeah.. u can overclock anything... but sometimes it voids the warranties on certain computers... i forgot how to do it... but i think u have to press F8 when it is booting.,.. then just change the proccessing speed.
