HOLD IT! I've been accused of trying to be politically correct when it comes to women's issues... but, hold on to your bra strap a minute!

If we have to lift the toilet seat to relieve our bladders... and you expect EQUAL treatment... why can't you women who complain about the toilet seat being up simply put it down and use it as your needs require? What's the difference? We have to lift it... you have to set it down.

You want and demand equality? We expect and demand the same courtesy in return! Women say that there is no such thing as a "woman's job" or a "man's job" insofar as equal pay but... are WE men supposed to extend special favors to those that want equality and fairness? Hold it... you work, you get paid; we work, we get paid. We do the same job, we get equal pay. Is it right so far? But do I have to hear such nonsense as, "I don't want to break a fingernail?" Or, "Why don't you lower the toilet seat?"... Well, we don't lower the toilet seat BECAUSE we have to lift it to use the toilet... and you should be able to lower it without complaining, if you want equality and fairness... we don't complain when we find it lowered and we have to raise it... we don't complain, YOU don't complain. It's only fair!

I do not see how this action can be labeled extravagant as you call it...whatever. To me it is necessary to prevent my cat from drinking the water in the toilet bowl.

Nope, I always do it and I make my kids do it. I have obsessive compulsive disorder and that's one of my things. The lid has to be down when you flush. I saw a study that showed that toilet bowl water can spit out up to 10 feet when you flush the toilet. That's just nasty. CLOSE THE LID!!!!

I used to keep mine down so the cats wouldn't play in it (they dropped a toy in one time, it got flushed, and we had to snake the drains). Problem is, if you shut it, you have to open it again later and handle all the germs. Yuck.

I've never seen a toilet spout, hard to imagine a 10-foot geyser...

lol ... it's the poster child of marital strife!

I think that is should be FAIR -- so all parties have to put down the seat AND the lid ... always every time. So good effort honors good effort!
