for your opinion

Which is better? I think it's TAS because it has managed to stay faithful to the comics and at the same time put on a great show. It was action-packed but not violent. And it has managed to show the romance of famous couples like Jean & Scott and Rogue & Gambit.

XTAS is what got me into X-Men and Rogue & Gambit to begin with.

for the facts:
Which received a higher ratings in television? Which was more popular? If you go to wikipedia, you'll see it's XTAS. But if you have another reliable source which says the same or the opposite, please say so.

X-MEN TAS

WOW. What a Question. I was a fan of TAS from the beginning. (even during periodic household banning of it) On the other hand I did not start watching Evo. until they were already airing the second season. In terms of overall seriousness and realism, honestly it is a tie. I have watched all or most of the episodes of both shows. (Before they were chopped apart by ABC Family and CartoonNetwork respectivly) While TAS stayed pretty serious some of there episodes were way out there. While this is part of the magic of cartoons, at times I felt my intelect was being insulted. Evo, while starting out pretty HORRID, got better with age and was not intended to be serious as it was a KIDS WB show. Case in point JLU. The WB version was a cross between Tean Titans and JLU. This is another variable to consider. Fox Kids showed X-Men as part of there action line up. As such it was treated as a Comic book that had moving pictures. The WB however had X-Men:Evolution as more of an Angsty, Comedic, Tweeny show. As such they tended to treat the episodes as filler in between their 2 million showings of PoKiOh. I think if either had been on the opposing network they would have endded being greatly different. I liked the fact that Evo. covered more chareters. I prefer the way TAS delved into the charachters. It treated them, with the exception of Archangel's introduction and a few other instances, as their counterparts from the comics. Evo. treated allot of the characters as though the were simply usefull as sight gags, nothing more. I have to say that in general the Voice Overs and Voice Acting was better with TAS. I think once again this is WBs fault. They had good VAs. I just think the show was not allowed enough freedom to have them at there best. I think the animation itself, not the artwork, was superb in Evo. Converesely I think the artwork, not the animation, was superb in TAS.

I like both of them, but I only have Evo. I guess I like it's more modern feel. And I liked the characters in Evo, especially revenge!Wanda. Also, I don't care much for romance.

(Have you read the X-Men Evolution comics?)

About ratings, I think there might also be a matter of competition. There have been more "good" cartoons on TV recently (I also include imported series here).

While both had their qualities, I loved XTAS. I have the whole series on DVD. Bears rewatching. They really did a good job of taking the comics and sticking with the stories (I've been a collector for years).

I wish they would have put in more Iceman instead of a guest episode, because Bobby is such a great character, but I'm so glad they put in Hank and actually used him. Beast has always been my fave in the comics. Loved they actually put Moira in.

I wish they'd do more of them. It was a great series. A lot of episodes are actually available on YouTube as well, put on by die hard fans.
