OMG you've seen my son's high school English curriculum!!!

Honestly, the new curriculum for his high school English class reads like a cross between a course on fairytale writing and one of those "touchy feely" esteem classes for elementary school age children.
It's a joke!

Colleges actually know that if a new student comes from my son's school they have to be put into remedial English courses. My son has NEVER once had a class on basic grammar or sentence structure. He wouldn't be able to outline a sentence if his life depended upon it.

Well, no, actually he would simply because I taught him these things. But the rest of the students in his school would have no clue.

What is going on with Public Education where settling for mediocrity is acceptable? I'm as made as hell, but tired of fighting the schools over it!

GEEZE I hope not! Since 'no child left behind' nonsense started-we have just moved all students to the level of the worst student in the class. Since we don't keep score in sports at the younger school levels -cuz somebody might have hurt feelings--we could be in trouble! But i have high hopes thats its just like anything else--the penduleum will swing back the other way!
