Myth Busters on the Discovery Channel had fun with this one last week. They discovered that it is only Diet Coke that has the propper qualities to cause the reaction when Mentos are introduced. They came to the conclusion it was the CO2, Sodium Benzoate and aspartame combined that gets the results. They tried a couple other sodas and the reaction was not the same. Pretty cool and a good name for your band. Have a great day!!!

There is a program called "mythbusters" they did what you said and it really went right up to the roof
