About a week before your period, eliminate/cut down on the amount of caffeine you consume. That means no chocolate, coffee, colas, etc. Also, lower your salt intake (no chips, preserved meats, etc.) to lessen the bloating. I've discovered that by doing these two things, my period isn't very painful. If all that fails, I take a hot shower first, then head off to bed with a heating pad (on tummy or back) and wrapped with a nice blanket. Sometimes I do need to take a pain reliever.

After trying this and the cramping is really painful, you should see your gynecologist. There might be some other thing happening with your body.

You need to be drinking a lot more water, not soda pop, coffee, alcohol, or other liquids, it needs to be water. The other drinks only make it worse. According to studies I read on the subject, when my daughters had their first periods, self pleasuring while in the shower, twice a day, during you period will shorten it considerably. I took the time to learn what was best for them.

Try midol or Ibuprofen.
Lay in bed with a hot water bottle on your stomach.
Or walk around to relieve the stress from ur cramps.
One of those should work

well drink seltzers, or carbonated water like perrier. also, try midol. its the only pill strong enough to fight my cramps. If you dont want to do that, sit on the floor with your legs in a 90 degree angle and stretch from one leg to the other, 15 seconds on each leg
