While not a physics expert, I suspect "cold fusion" is one of those things that will not be achieved by man, because it was not meant to be.

I can't remember who said it, it might have been Einstein, "humans are the only species capable of their extinction, simply by trying to achieve that which is scientifically unachievable"

Cold fusion is unlikely to be achieved.
1. Despite 2 decades or more of research the only evidence is of scientific fraud or sloppy research.
2. There is a lot of hydrogen in the universe that has been seeded with dust containing heavy metals. If cold fusion were a viable process, there would be evidence of it from elemental abundances in interstellar gas clouds.
3. From 1 and 2 we can safely conclude that cold fusion is at best an unlikely and marginal process.

In science, hypotheses must be supported by experimental evidence or discarded.

I enjoy it very much.

I don't beleive it is acheivable. Fusion is a hell of a monkey to create and control.

someday it'll be reality....we haven't had the power of the harnessed atom for that many years! When it happens -the world instantly changes for the better!!
