Israel isn't fighting Lebanon, they are fighting the Hezbollah a terrorist organization that has been supported by Iran and Syria for almost 20yrs. The Hezbollah operates in the south of Lebanon in an area where the government of Lebanon is powerless to do anything about them.

Hezbollah is a puppet of Syria which is a puppet of Iran. All three want to kill all the Jews (not to mention Christians and other non believers world wide) and destroy Israel.
Lebanon is not powerfull enough to remove Hezbollah. Only the Shiites? in Lebanon support Hezbollah.
Israel has the right to defend itself.

Unfortunately Hezbollah (with the help of Iran and Syria) still has power. The poor Lebonese are caught in the middle, but Israel is doing the smart thing by protecting themselves by trying to diminish Hezbollah.

They weren't fighting Lebanon. They were fighting Hezbollah. Why don't you try getting the facts straight before you ask such a question?

If Lebanon had any power (or the will) they should have dismanteled Hizbollah or at a minimum cut their power and then the "war" would never have started.

To be realistic here you have to be honest and accept the ugly truth of war.
If you do not beat your enemy into complete and total submission, They will fight you another day.
