Not knowing what router you have let alone what chat you want to use wont get you an answer here. To open ports on your router, read the manual. If you dont have the manual you can download it from the mfgs website. In order to fined what ports you need to open you will need to contact the chat site.

You can login to your router using a web browser. Open a browser window and type in the gateway IP address of the router in the address bar, it usually is 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1 . Most use Admin for the password and either "password "or "1234" for the password. If that doesn't work someone has probally changed the loggin/password for security reasons . Once you get logged in you can open ports for the IP address your computer has been assigned through the GUI interface. The chat program you are using will tell you what ports to open in the help files or FAQ's.
