Why is it that boy bands who sing things that should come from the heart.. Why are they automatically assumed as fags? I listen to country, Pop, Rap, Rock, and so on.. They are sweet if they singing about cutting one another, they are dope if they sing about rape, f*ck*ng, tearing that p*ssy up, whatever.. But if they sing about love, romance, ect. They become "unpopular" and "gay" .. I want to know why? Because maybe there songs really are from the heart? To me.. That makes them more manly then "beat the p*ssy up" Now.. dont get me wrong, I do like hearing "beat that p*ssy up" I listen to those kind of songs, but now and then, its nice to hear a guy sing with feelings less then his 2 inch wang lets hims! Anyways I know that EVERYONE has a opinion on this matter, so lets hear em. Also, for the guys, I dont wanna hear some pop off idiot remark, just because you think with your wangs, and not your cardboard brains. So question is.. Whats your opinion on this matter, and how am I wrong?

when they sing from their hearts, they are reaching the female teens generation. more money, more demographics, more fans.
girls love attention and love songs that sound like they have meaning and the song is directed towards that one girl that's listening. young teens and maturing teens feel like they need mature males attention, not being able to do so all the time, they listen to those men sing to them on their Cd's. its a comfort. its something they enjoy and can relax to as they hit that "I'm fat and ugly (hormonal stage) period in their life.
but when guys hear the song or older women, they think "ew, what in the world? they must be gay" because those songs dont mean anything to them. why? because the music isn't directed to them.

Well I like avariety of music also. Country is my music of choice though because it has such a variety in it. The rocking music of Chesney, the more serious George Strait, the upbeat music of Keith Urban or Dirks Bentley, the soulfull music of Josh Turner, the list goes on and on. But on the other hand I like groups like Nickelback, Bon Jovi, and a few others. As for boy bands, I have no problem with them or their music, it just isn't music I enjoy listening to. And those other kinds of music-the ones with all the cussing, is it really music or is it just noise being made while some "singer" screams about his fantasies and nightmares?

The almight record company usually dictates what your image is what you sing and what you do on and off stage.. boy bands are 'marketed' for an audience of female listeners12-21 years old..Just like any 'product' marketed now a days the research is done and the product is tweaked to give target audience just what it wants. Disney is a great example

Because over the last 10 years "nice" has become a bad four-letter-word. If a person is sincere, has feelings that aren't hatred toward someone or something, they are considered weak-willed or weak-minded. And so many females have thrown over good guys for bad guys that most guys are afraid to show that they have feelings.

I think it's just become very unpopular to be "sensitive." Most guys and their friends will bash on girls together, yet maintain a relationship with one JUST LIKE the girls they bash on when with other guys. Also, they will be sweet, nice, loving, caring, etc. with the girl, but in front of their friends very different.
Guys want to seem "macho" and the terms of being macho consist of being rude, talking down other men, pushing the envelope, etc.
I agree that men who talk like that (talking about trashy things) are less of a "man" than a man who embraces being sensitive, yet manly at the same time.
My fiance is a great example of these qualities. He defends me in front of his friends, yet still hangs out with them and has a good time. He calls me lovey dovey names in private, but at the same time, can be in public and do it too!
Hope this provides a different perspective on things. :)

Intelligent people dislike boy bands because they can't sing, and the only reason they got a record deal is because they look pretty.

yeah i totally agree with you girl. i like a variety of music too and i'm not afraid to tell people i like that kind of music too. i think a lot of people do, but for some reason they think it is 'uncool' to like pop so they feel like they always need to trash it. i don't front like that i just say hell yes i like the backstreet boys what you gonna do about it b i t c h es??
i guess you just have to stick to what you like and say f it to those people that trash the good songs! :) good question btw.
