i need to testify agaisnt a family member in court. now my fam member is wrong(lied) and if i dont testify this person in trail will go to jail but i dont want conflict with my family for doing it? what do i do?

Do you really want to send an innocent person to jail?! What kind of person would do that?! No you have to do the right thing and testify against the family member...Put yourself in the other persons shoes.

In some states...communication between famly memebers (in particular spouces) is considered "privledged" communication. Similar to attorney-client privledge. This is granted only under certain conditions when the sanctity of the communication is necessary for the function of society. It is dealt with under the rules of Evidence. The Federal Rule is number 501 and states have their own rules. Good luck, I hope you do not have to testify against a family member.

I truly feel for you. That seems like an impossable place to be, and when im faced with what I feel is the impossible, I close my eyes take out everyone elses veiw and listen to my heart it takes practice but seriosly works...Good luck

You need to do what you know in your heart is right. You do not want an innocent person to go to jail, likewise, you do not want a guilty person to walk away unpunished.

You tell the truth, what if it were you, and someone was lieing, and you were going to go to jail because they lied? Thats not fair is it? tell your family you choose to be honest, and your sorry if thats a problem for them, But would they rather you go to hell for lieing?
