Another question, what if I leave a cup next to a kitchen sink (one of the dirtiest places in the home) for a little while and then drink out of again? Can germs climb from out of the sink to the cup to multiply inside it? I'm not a germiphobe, I'm just a little curious.

Yes, the germs from your mouth multiply in the cup. No, they can't jump out of the sink.
But the thing is, there's germs and spores in the air everywhere, landing all over you and your cup and your food and in your sink. You can be the cleanest person in the world and they'll still be there.

No germs are so minute that they take hours to multiply and reach to the mouth of your cup

Germs are all around us, we can never be totally germ-free.
You would enjoy a microbiology class.
