If you are in high school- then it is the feeling of power they have. Also they are usually pretty and people are drawn to them.

Popularity applies differently in Asia. Like the smarter you are aka a geek the more popular you get whereas in Western countries, popularity is rated by one's appearance/ sport ability.
Overall, popular people have great confidence & they are eager to please. But the downside being, they become such snobs because they know that they're well liked.
For the rest of us, we're drawn to them thinking it would raise our social status to be seen with them.
Frankly, to be someone else for the sake of fitting in, is just bad. I gave up a long time ago & a happier person as a result âº

Popular people like themselves!
Mostly popular people are people with some kind of power.
In high school, it's mostly the power to get attention -- cheerleaders, jocks, class president.
On the Power Scale it's about in the middle, popularity. Those below wish they could get the attention and kudos, those above are trying to not be bothered and get the real work done!

Be live it or not I think its an attitude. like I am the best person in the world....If you call me a name, I am like so what I dont care what you pathetic person is like. Second, be unique...it could be your clothes, your way of talking or walking...something that makes you stand out but not take everything from you. for example,,,band people only like to hang out with band people and only like to talk about music. Sit with the nerdiest and even the retarded people every once in awhile. If you watch popular people they may tell jokes about them but they will talk to them and make them feel special. I wasted my teenage years wanting to be popular and was such a snob to the nerds. When the nerds dont like you then you cant be popular, because its the little people you need to look up to you so that you have an audience to be popular with.

because people are afraid to tell them that their ******* and that nobody really likes them, it may be because their mean to certain peope but not to all and they suck up to the people that will benefit them, only think about themselves i would actually hate being popular because i live in a small town and i was in the hair salon this girl that i know from school her mom's a stylist and was doing this girls hair, all the girl kept saying was I love your daughters hair and i wish i had her hair color and kept going on and on. u see, it may be that i just don't everybody being me but i would just rather not be popular if everyone started to change their looks to be like me..... I LOVE TO BE MY OWN PERSON THANKYOU, most of the time popular people are just trying to make up for something thats missing from their lives, so they actually have bigger problems then us i would rather be comfortable with who i am none the less whoever says that i don't dress right or whatever .... i'm happy with who i am and i'm confident i don't need to be the most popular person ever, and THAT state of thinking has actually made me more friends just be confident.... Thats it!!!

I kno exactly what u mean, but there girls that are always dating sumone, always have plans, and have power...i kno i was one of them. but that is so over rated there not as stuck up as u think. so unless u actually kno them u shouldnt judge them, becuz people will tell u there bitchez or sumthing like that, but that's only cuz that's there image.
