I am 5'11 and I have dated a guy who is 5'9 before. No big deal- and I teased him a little bit, but nothing hurtful.

well 1 inch shorter is not a big deal for me. However some women wear heels and it makes some men feel insecure. I think she is just teasing you bcoz some men take offense when women wear heels. Just tease her back and call her a giraffe or something.

i would date a guy who is 5'9.... i am so tall (5'11)and i know that guys taller than me are few and far between so i take what i can get! however i wouldn't tease him becaue i wouldn't want him to feel emasculated. plus some short guys are hot., look at al pacino he is only 5'6!

yikes - I'm almost 5'8" and when I wear those sexy high heels I tower over most - my guy isn't over 5'10" and there is often times I wish I could lay my head on his chest without sticking my bum out in the air. I don't tease him, but I notice it and I'm sure he does too!

Just don't wear big heels when you go out together stick to flats, or under an inch.
