I think Favre said that hoping his status as the franchise player would make them not fire Sherman. He was throwing empty threats. He still wants to play--so he will come back and do that, regardless of who is coaching. He isn't ready to retire just yet.

Because in Greenbay they are letting the fans run the team. Actually thats not true but it sure seems like it is. Its just like how they are holding on to washed-up Brett Favre. The fans get all sentimental about Favre. They could have traded or released him and either got some better draft picks or freed up some cap room. Im glad the Packers took old dumbass from my Niners so they can get a real coach in there, well Norv Turner isnt much better but oh well.

specific, he could be long previous by utilising the tip of the season if this dropping maintains. i'm a 49ers fan and theory the 49ers could make the playoffs with a resounding checklist. Even at 2-6 SF nonetheless has a great gamble to win the NFC West as they are in elementary terms 2 video games decrease back of Seattle and Arizona. yet once you observed the Atlanta pastime, SF had 4th and purpose on the ATL 3 interior the 4th quarter and the score 17-13. MIKE NOLAN ELECTED to decide for the sphere purpose! I propose you desire 3 YARDS and whether you do no longer CONVERT YOU decrease back UP ATLANTA DEEP of their very own TERRITORY. The 49ers moved the ball so nicely on thatpersistent. With the converted FG, the 49ers have been trailing by utilising one and gave Atlanta the momentum. Mike Nolan is the main conservative coach interior the NFL. you won't be able to be conservative every time you play. How do you win whilst you're conservative too plenty? hire Marty Schottenheimer as head coach for next 3 hundred and sixty 5 days.

The Packers made a colossal mistake screwing Jim Bates out of the head coaching position, as one has to believe he was hired as the de facto "next" head coach in the first place.
Good job, Ted Thompson.
As for Sherman, I think it was a matter of Thompson getting "his guys" into place, and Sherman clearly did not fit that bill. Too bad, too, because he was a good coach with good records with the Packers.
Oh, and the team does not officially "suck" yet, as they haven't played any real games. So don't write them off just yet. The cynical side of me says Brett knew how close he was to a couple of Marino records and knew he could have them all to himself considering how reliant the team is going to be on him this year.

Brett Favre loves to play and is competitice in nature, as for the coach, they could hire vince lombardi's ghost and it wouldn't matter 'cause the team's got no talent. Giving orders doesn;t make a player better

because sherman absolutely sucks that is why he got fired. GB wants to go back to their west coast offensive roots that led them to the superbowl in the 90's.
