I think Favre said that hoping his status as the franchise player would make them not fire Sherman. He was throwing empty threats. He still wants to play--so he will come back and do that, regardless of who is coaching. He isn't ready to retire just yet.

Because in Greenbay they are letting the fans run the team. Actually thats not true but it sure seems like it is. Its just like how they are holding on to washed-up Brett Favre.
