Okay liberals, I thought you were laid back, caring, and understanding. Were not you the ones who smoked your dope during the hippie age? Oh ya that's okay but it is not okay to smoke in a bar.
Why are most of you like this? The liberal states have most of the smoking bans. You seem like really fun people.
Well, that's is because liberals only care about themselves. If they LIKED smoking, then they wouldn't ban it. Regardless if it were good for you are not.
Oh, bye the way, keep showing your support for the gay marriage laws so are human species become less. But don't smoke in a bar.

I am so glad I saw this question! I grew up in the 60-70's. My dad would always say that the hippies were communists and I would take up for them. Now that all the hippies (now liberals)are running things I see he was right! We smokers are being treated like the blacks were treated in the 60's. It's not right! I think they are just a bunch of idiots that have tripped out one too many times and think it's their business to run everyone else's life. They can all kiss my hiney!

All stereotyping and gross ingnorance aside, many on the left are against public smoking because of the health risks it exposes to others; secondhand smoke is bad for you whatever side of the political spectrum you are on.
No one is questioning anyone's right to smoke, it's where one can smoke. The line has to be drawn when your right to enjoy a cigar/cigarette/pipe impedes my right to a healthy environment, or just poisons me.
Just the same, there are many on the right that support bans as well, especially those that consider themselves more family oriented. Maybe if you spent more time thinking than blaming you could answer questions like these yourself.
I myself stopped smoking three weeks ago.

Well I think smoking should be up to the establishment, but it is a big health concern.
However your last comment is straight up idiotic. Way to make yourself sound uneducated. Gay marriage is about letting other people be happy. I don't see why conservatives feel they need to ruin the happiness and well being of others. There is nothing wrong with gay people, and there are plenty of kids who need adoption. We need to stop overpopulating the Earth anyway. Gay marriage is the humane thing to do really. In the future we will look back at how we treated gays, denying them equality and their rights and will see that they were just like the blacks. People used to make similar uneducated arguments about black people in an effort to deny them simple happiness.

Man, come to FL- the only place you can smoke indoors is in a bar. Yet they're trying to pass a bill to allow dogs on the patio at restaurants.
Yes, dogs. I can't have my Camels, but someone can bring a frigging DOG to a restaurant. A DOG. An animal that licks his own *** can be at the table next to me, but I can't light up a cigarette.
And as I'm sure you know, FL is not a liberal state. (except Disney property, of course). It's the biggest, Reddest State of them all.

Florida's not a liberal state! It was one of the first!
Actually, most of the people I know who support it are conservatives.
Personally, I'm libertarian. I like not having to smell smoke in a restaurant or stale smoke in a hotel room, but I also think the marketplace--which is to say, US--can demand it, and if people want to smoke, they should have a place to do so.
Oh, and I'm same-sex married and don't smoke anything.

Just like people cannot smoke pot in public places (like bars and pubs), it makes sense they cannot smoke cigarrettes.
Even worse: nicotine is proven to cause bad effects on those exposed to is, even if they themselves are not smoking.
It's common sense, considering the high number of people dying with lung cancer (and, if you are a Republican, think about all the tax money that goes into keeping those people alive and giving them treatment).

Massachusetts under Republican governor - smoking ban in all public places
New Hampshire under Democratic governor - no smoking ban (Republican governor tried to pass one 2 years ago and it failed - Democrats controlled the House)
Draw your own conclusions.

They are concerned about smoke, yet don't seem to care about catching a disease from casual hookups. In fact they enourage casual hookups.
Personally, I think smoking should be up to individual establishments. That way the business can choose their crowd and the public can choose where they want to go.
