Try a base coat and a top coat in addition to your color. Or get one that has a built in base or top coat. The added clear layers help the polish last longer without chipping. It gives it a hard surface that can withstand the thumps and bumps your feet take.
For an inexpensive brand to try, look at Sally Hansen. They make several types that are a great value. Try the Diamond line. It's my personal favorite. My nails grow out before I have to re-do the polish.

Apply the clear as a base, then the color, the the clear as a top. It's indestructible, nothing I've done to date has chipped or scratched it.

This is really for your hands but you can cut them to fit. Avon's Dry Enamel Strips. They last for about 14 days!
