When is the USA going to grow up and admit they are not number 1 any more? Only thing America is number 1 in is crime. The USA is 24 in education, 17 in science, and 11 in technology for industrilized countries. Most of the country does not have any medical insurance and your poverity rate is among the highest for industrilized countries. Does a powerful army really make America so great? Is it freedome that makes you so great? Wait it cannot be since Europe, Canada, Austrailia, and other places also have freedom and a similar goverment. Why is America the greatest country again when there are some many other industrilized countries far ahead?

So other industrilized countries have a better standard of living, better health care, lot less crime, and we are still the greatest. Why is that again? Instead of saying it give facts to why it is.

Deac Europe, Australlia, Canada, and other industrilized countries also have freedom. Why is it ever hick seems to thinks no other country has freedom? Is Australia under a dictator? I did not know the UK was run by Hitler. America's freedom is nothing that other countries don't have. So how does that make us great again? Plus we are number one in crime of the industrilized countries.

I'm an American and, while I don't have any statistics to back me up here, I can certainly agree that my country's in pathetic shape and getting worse everyday. I don't want to give up on the USA, but I'm tired of waiting for things to change and trying to fight an uphill battle trying to make a difference or have my voice heard. I would love dearly to relocate to another country and am discussing this possibility with my husband.

America is not #1 in crime. The other areas may or may not be right, I'll not bother to check, though I doubt some of them. We do need to improve our educational system, which will bring those other areas up. But what makes America great, and number one in the eyes of billions of people, is the freedom we have. Only in America can a foreigner come with little in his pocket and be able to become a successful businessman, politician, preacher, or whatever he chooses. The same is true for those born here. If he is willing to work he can do it. We in America place great value on life (though many are making an all out effort to change that) which makes us great. Yes we are lacking in some ares of learning, the result of years of attack by liberal educators who feel we should not pressure the student to learn. That can be reversed. But if we lose our respect for "life, liberty and the persuit of happiness," we will lose our greatness and will fall as Rome did.

We may be down in the specific catagories, but in the overall average we are number 1.
Besides, we get forced into the number 1 position by all of the other countries you mention, until another country steps up to take control of the problems around the world we will remain at the top.

You are just envy!...US may not be the number 1 in education and and only 17th in Science but they are by far the smartest! How????...Don't you know that the entire world is just one big business of the US? Who owns the World Bank and IMF?
By the way, there is no country in the world that is more industrialized than the US. Look at NASA!

USA IS NOT #1...BECAUSE...THEY DON'T WANT TO ACCEPT THE TRUTH. WHILE THEY ARE SPENDING THEIR MONEY KILLING INNOCENT PEOPLE AND AS A RESULT INCREASING TERRORIST SUPPORT....THE OTHER COUNTRIES ARE TRYING TO DEVELOP THEMSELVES. eg. CHINA.
According to the stats...Germany, Sweden, Norway, Australia are some of the countries that are better than USA overall.
