There are a lot of reasons that people get divorced, and some of them are valid. But I think that the reason the divorce rate is above 50% is because many people don't have respect for the institution of marriage. Many people don't realize that marriage takes work and effort and that it is not just about feelings. Marriage is about finding that person that completes you and that you cannot live without and honoring the vow "till death do us part" for the rest of your lives.

That's not entirely accurate. There are plenty of couples who have been married for 25 years or more. Then there are the people who've been divorced five times. It does indeed average out to 1 out of every 2 marriages failing, but when you consider that certain people have had multiple, multiple marriages...it's a bit skewed.

Well, it is just because they are living in a material world and also a world where everything is disposable so why can 't marriage be the same. you can get rid of a person and get another just like that.

People get married for stupid reasons, and then are quick to get out of it instead of working on their problems.
