Disposer Care is a fairly new product that is intended specifically to clean and maintain food waste disposal. Home centers might likely carry this already. If not, there should be quite a few other stuff that you can find which you can use to rid the smell in your disposer. Lemon Rind will cover the smell for a short time but it does not do the upkeep on the equipment. good luck!!!

A few options:
You can add bleach and let it sit...this will kill any bacterial growth down there (this is what smells bad).
You can add lemons and grind them up while flushing with cold water. This doesn't kill any bacterial growth, but merely masks the bad smell.
Or...you can turn off electrical power (on the circuit breaker panel) to the garbage disposal. Take it apart and clean it. I've done this a few times and it always does the trick.
Good Luck!

You can cut up lemons and then turn on the disposal or you can put 1/3 cup of baking soda. you would turn on the disposal and pour it down, that should take care of the smell.

Lemons & oranges work temporarily. Pour a whole box of Arm & Hammer down there & run warm water down the sink. Not a big box, but the small one will do just fine. White vinegar works too. I buy the Fridge & Freezer Arm & Hammers, dumping them down each side of my sink when I change them every 90 days. Lemons & oranges or other citrus fruits can give you a quick fresh lemon or orange scent while it grinds up.

first pour a pound of baking soda down it and then pour a cup of white vinegar on that, let it sit a bit then turn on the disposal. then slice up a lemon and drop it in and grind, they also make disposal fresheners in the united states you can buy with the household airfresheners . monthly put a box of baking soda in your fridge, when you take the old one out, put that down the disposal and it will help in two places and really give you good service for your money. good luck

The lemon peels help....but to really clean it, use bleach...or you can fill an ice cube tray with vinegar and make vinegar cubes...feed them down the disposal while it's running, and chopping through the vinegar will clean the blades.
