My opinion: Elvis Presley. He was known for being the King of Rock and Roll. From the way he danced to his lifestyle choices, he will always be a legend and as American as apple pie, the 4th of July and baseball games. Princess Diana was a wonderful humanitarian, a great mother and just an all around classy and elegant woman. I think it really depends on when you were born as to who you believe who is more famous. These two were both quite famous, just for doing different things in there lives. But what it comes down to is that people will continue telling their children for the next hundred years about Elvis because he was an American icon and so very ahead of his time, not to mention how important he was to society as a whole.

Princess Di is insignificant if we don't care about the British and their Royal rumor fest on who slept with whom.
Elvis is the real mccoy and was the most interesting figure alive. Rory whatever is a no-namer.
So in essence, Elvis won out by whole entire mile and then some.
