some people say .... oh you can kill your father, grampa....etc and you cease to exist!!!
WRONG WRONG AND WRONG !!!!!
YOU CREATE A DIFRENT TIME LINE WHERE YOU WOULDEN'T EXIST. and when you came back, you will b very surprised to find your father...etc alive and well. (that if you go back to you time line. and TIME is only a conception! think about it.

Hmmm - well some scientists think it is possible, but only if you have a time machine at both ends of the travel.
For example, if you built one today, then today would be the earliest time you could travel back to. Travel into the future I believe is not considered possible at this point in scientific reasoning.
There are the special cases of falling into a black hole, where you travel into the past (just to do a quick death I suppose).

Moving FORWARD in time is a FACT. It happens to every Space Shuttle trip. The change in time is very, very small. Moving backward in time is probably impossible. Some theories have been proposed to make time travel into the past possible, but the techniques that may have serious possibility of working require almost impossible amounts of energy or the manipulation of black holes. These theories are totally impractical, even if they could work. Forward time travel is taught in college physics 101. At the least it was taught in my class in Junior College.

I don't think time travel will ever exist. Consider this. If you were to go back in time before you were born and kill your father, you would never exist in the future and therefore you could never have gone back in time in the first place. There are so many paradoxes like this one. Infinitely many, in fact.

I do not think that time travaling is possible. Why? well as time goes by it becomes part of history and to enter that history no matter how far ago requiers to bend some of the natural rules. sorry but in my oppinion we will be living on the moon sooner than we will be able to time travel (if ever!)

I believe that the current concensus is that time travel is not possible, however there is a possibility of shifting to an alternate dimension, or reality, where time has taken a longer, shorter, or alternate path.
