It's not a question. Why has to modify something, otherwise you're just left with, what is that, a dangling modifier? It's not a complete thought, so it's not a complete question.
"Why 42?"
"Because it was a large number, substantually large without being really big"

why? because the angels took my daughter to heaven in april, my husband tried to kill me in may leaving me alone, no family,no income, mentally ill and suicidal since my daughter left
