There's nothing you can do. It's something she needs to work through by herself. If she's a younger teen as I assume she is - then she's trying to work through this new rush of hormones etc.
Don't listen to the other people - hitting her will not solve anything - it'll make her cry harder!
Just be understanding and patient. If she grows unreasonable, have a talk with her and explain the consequences for misbehaving - "the smart mouth". i.e./ take away what she loves - the phone, date night, etc.
Best of luck!

Well as long as she goes in her room to cry and doesn't bother anyone let her be. There is obviously something bothering her. (o, and is the show and she cried about so you think you can dance?). Maybe you should just wait a little while and see if it ends. If not, just spend time with her. I am 15 and i know 15 year old girls can be wierd. Sometimes i just upset and go in my room and cry about dumb things and think about what i am going to say to my mom when she comes to knock on my door to see what is wrong. But she never comes. Then i get more upset because it seems as if my mom doesnt care. Maybe you should just gentle knock on her door while she is crying and if she answers ask her what is wrong. She probably just wants to let it all out.

how old is she. if shes a teen she shouldnt be crying like that. you should yell at her. if she crys you should say stop crying. Thats really childish behavior and she should have learned this a long time ago. if you dont wanna step it up and put some attitude into it, your daughters just going stay acting like she 2 years old.
P.S. give her a slap. a slap shows who's boss, who's in charge. Do make a bruise. just a slap that stings. When you dont show disapline with action your tend to collapse and your children take over and act as if they're 2 again and the center of attention.

Tell her she's acting like a baby. No one likes to be insulted, and no offense, but she sounds a bit spoiled and inappreciative of what you do for her. I'm 15, I was like that once, inappreciative, but I know I didn't cry because of my favorite show not being on (no offense to your daughter).
Do tell her though what re-runs are.

First of all, stop calling her "hormonal" - that is inappropriate. You could try having a talk with her, and having consequences for behaviour that is disruptive.
