Are you one also, he has to own( an I am not making this up)
at least 200 DVD's in our third room. He won't sell or trade them in why I don't understand this 17yr old. Why is he saving them? Someone young please talk to me!

because he enjoys films? i have over 300 movies in my bed room and over 2000 cds nothing wrong with collecting films/cds its perfectly normal.

Someone have like this type of hobbies . See am 25 i have more then 300 Movie , Songs, Cds in my Room . Dont say to ur son to stop this collections . It may help u too some other days.

haha that is funny that he has so many! i like dvds, but i only buy my very favorite movies. i would suggest he try netflix, you can rent all the dvds you want for a base price per month (i pay 15 for 2 at a time unlimited). that way he can check out all the movies without taking up money and space, and it is cheap! but i guess if you like to collect things... :)

I mean, I love DVD's and my cousin who is young is the same way. She and he mom who love DVD's too, accually compete on how many DVD's they have. My cousin is winning. Its just that people that are young like the newer things that are cooler than other items like them like DVD's are cooler and newer than VCR's so younger people insist to use DVD's instead of VCR's. I accually agree with Abby, i suggest netflix too. Its great because you can look online and choose any movies you want and netflix will send them in the mail instintly. its great.

Sounds like he's a dvd collector..you shouldn't be concerned about this...he could be doing other things kids do these days..like drugs. So encourage it..buy him some new one for his collection when you can. Who knows, maybe he'll be a movie critic someday.

I would say that if he actually watches them more than once then that is fine. Out of all of the things that you could be warring about your 17 year old doing, I would say that this is not too worrisome.
