About someone (anyone) who basically I look up to. I was thinking about either doing elvis since he changed music and sort of created rock and roll or someone like elvis, but that's basically just because I can't think of anyone else that wouldn't seem really stupid. I'm open to any suggestons for people. (but please not a lot of political people, I'm just honestly not at all into politics)

I guess it depends on how long the essay has to be. Do you have to research it or give a personal perspective?

Can you take it closer to home? Sometimes it is hard to find someone close to home you look up to but is there someone you know that you look up to for just getting through the day or for changing their life or something like that? Those are the people I admire more than the big heros. I mean, Elvis may have changed music but he made a mess of his own life in doing so.

Is there someone who impacted on your life just by accepting you for who yo are? I had a grade 5 teacher who did that for me and friends who have done it in my adult years. Essays like that impressed me more when I used to teach than pop culture essays.

If you werent around when Elvis was alive then don't do Elvis. Write about someone that you have witnessed. and that you admire. It can be a famous person but I think you should write about someone who is alive in the hear and now of your life.

talk about someone who shaped you -- a sibling, a parent, a relative, a family friend, a friend ... anyone who you think has a great story behind their eyes that people would enjoy.

you can also do an icon like elvis, but i think it will be easier to write if you write about someone that you know inside and out.

good luck!

ps. im not into politics either =p

I don't want to be ego eccentric, but how about doing one on me. I can be someone that you can look up to. Or how about doing one on Mae West, the actress that pretty much brought her own acting style into movies. I thought she's really good and funny in her own way.

Only you know whom you admire. Maybe you should chose a family member or a teacher.
