How do solve this: Convert 0.22 1/2 to a fraction?

The way it is written didn't make sense to me either, hence I am asking the question.

I've never seen fraction written behind a decimal except at gas stations...so, thinking of money, it's like 22 1/2 cents, so that would be 225/1000? Reduced, that would be 9/40, right? :) Makes some sense....

First of all, the number doesn't look correct. If you are just talking about 0.22, its fraction is 22/100. The 1/2 part is already a fraction. So when you put the two pieces together it doesn't make sense because you don't mix fractions and non-fractions together in the same number.

That doesn't make sense. I've never seen that written that way.
To conver .22 to a fraction, simply place 22 over 100 and simplify (11/50) as for 1/2 that's already a fraction. And you can't write .22 1/2 as one number, it's not mathematically sound.

i have taken the net test for nursing back in may of this year.... don't worry its not as hard as the instructors say it is TRUST ME!

.22 1/2 = (1.44/2)
