Yep. That's what they say. They also say the moon is made of green cheese.
It's true that exponentially, the number of people you can contact through six people is amazingly large, but it isn't quite large enough to contact everyone in the world. Think of China's billion population, and India's millions upon millions. It just isn't mathematically viable.
But it's a great trivia question!

I don't believe you know everyone but it's true that through 6 people, you are somehow connected to everyone. Like when your mother went to another country and she went to a restaurant when she saw a famous actress who happened to be a mistress of a diplomat who was an acquaintance of the president of that country and the president got sick and was confined to a hospital and was attended by a doctor who has a son who has a girlfriend in another country and that girlfriend is a daughter of a prince from another woman and so on and so on.

It could be true. Especially now when everything gets googled through the internet.
Many websites even help you connect with your highschool classmates. I never realized that my highschool classmates would either meet or marry people I knew after being in school.
Therefore, in some ways it is true. It will just depend on how friendly or memorable to other people you are.

I think it is true. If you talk to someone long enough, it is usually by accident, they mention something and you're like OMG I know them.

I think it's true because if you know six people then those six people know six other people each and then those 36 people know six other people each and blah and blah and blah....
Hey, dude, know you one way or another! Haha, lolz!
Now and then,
