I have this white wicker loveseat in my living room. I'm pretty sure it's real wicker. I would really like to move it to the patio, but I'm not sure if it's waterproof. Does anyone know what will happen if I expose the loveseat to the weather? Also, is there anyway to waterproof wicker, like with a polyurethene spray or something like that? How would I go about getting that done? Thanks in advance.

yes you can poly it ..i suggest you visit a marine supply store...they will have the best water proofing poly on the market and you can probably do it yourself...cause u will either have to spray it on or brush it on is all

my experience unless its covered, its a bad idea.if its in a covered area there are urethane's that will help protect, just be sure to use a marine grade product because of the added germicide so it will not mold.to get it covered i turn it upside down and then i spray thin coats 1way-left 1way right up and down.turn over and repeat process.just remember everything has four sides except things like nuts and they have six sides.

I don't see why you couldn't use something like Thompson's water seal on it. You can apply it with a brush or they may make it in a spray application (obviously much easier).
Good luck

You just answered your question. You could do it yourself with cans of polyurethene. Yes you could hire a professional to do it also. Are you going to have it under a patio covering if so I think it would be okay to do the above.LOL
