OK, so, I have a nose ring (well, stud) that I've had for close to a year now. It's the type that's "L" shape, with a tiny ball on the end so it doesn't slip out of my nose. My issue is, right beside it, it looks like a pus pocket type thing formed (like a zit). It doesn't hurt at all, but it's really annoying. Once and awhile, and I know this is bad, but I'll pop it, and pus will come out. It's beginning to tick me off. I don't want to take the stud out 'cause it'll hurt like a *****, yet I want to get rid of this thing! I got it done with a gun.. does that have anything to do with it? Plus, I put oregano oil on it every night in hopes that it'll burn off (I'm desperate, like I said). Does anyone have any suggestions? Any idea what it is? Is it a cyst or something? It's driving me nuts!

Hmm.. well, thanks for all your suggestions. It doesn't seem infected as it doesn't hurt at all.. it's just really annoying. Oregano oil is supposed to be really good for burning things like that away. I never thought about changing the metal.. it is a stirling silver though.. I might have to go with a gold plated one... I'll try the peroxide though.

omg i had the same thing on my nose.. i put bactrian on it *anti bacterial oitment* and its gone!!! dont remove it, playing around with the hole will make it worse... if it still hurts then it could ne infected. cleaning it with hydrogen peroxide and putting the bactrian on it a few time a day should heal it, if not, you will have to go to the doctor.. NO SOAP!! IT WILL IRRITATE AND BURN LIKE A MOTH^%$#^&*%... if any, Dial soap

I pierced my nose myself and had zits allover my nose for a long while so I just let them go I'd wash my face everynite and take out the nose ring b4 u wash ur face!! but now its fine once I changed the metal of the nose ring!, so go buy different nose studs see if anything helps :)

I have my nose done 2 i have also had the pus thing what i did is i put puroxide on my nose stud them on the pus bubble and than mine went away that night but it was a scab.GOOD LUCK!!!!!!11

go to a piercing studio, where they acctually do real body piercings not with a gun! they will most likley recomend a change in jewlery to a high quality metal and sea salt soaks twice a day... Sterling silver is best in my nose and i use a nose pin or a nose bone, 20g. look around at some links for BME they are awsome but the site is about body mods... please be 18 to view.

Oregano? What about deodorant soap (none of that sissy moisturizing stuff, we want to dry it out)? Wash your hands before you mess with it, you might be reinfecting it. Use the most drying soap you have, or hey- zit cream!
