My understanding is that after ten years the smell is almost nothing, also its been done if you google railroad tie homes there is a small article and pics but not indepth for me thanks Shawn

Are you serious? Do you know that RR ties are soaked in oil to preserve them from rotting & being attacked by termites while they are resting on the ground. If the stink doesn't get to you then eventually the fumes will prove toxic. Or maybe before that happens the whole thing will explode into flames when you try to heat it in the winter. I would be very suprised if there is any info available on how to build a cabin from RR ties.

You don't want to build a cabin with railroad ties, they are treated wood that are not to be used for that purpose.

you prolly would'nt want to build with ties
the creasote on them you couldnt handle the smell
