I must have answered this question about fifty times. I love to ski. I love the speed, the exhilaration, the crazy thrill I get from taking a double-black or tearing up a wicked course. I respect advanced snowboarders, but absolutely cannot stand when beginner snowboarders being stupid try to attempt my mountain. Skiing is amazingly thrilling, and also incredibly relaxing. Even though my adrenaline is pumping from the extreme excitement, I am always oddly relaxed. I am a totally different person when I'm at a ski resort; when I'm on the lifts or waiting at the top of the race course, I'm giddy and bubbly but when I'm skiing, free or in a course, I am calm, collected and focused.

Snowboarding is great. I learned to ski when I was three and seven years later I saw my first snowboarder and I knew that was what I wanted to be. Its been twenty years now and I love snowboarding just as much as I did the first day.

It always makes me laugh when people say that skiing is more versatile or you can't snowboard certain terrain like you can ski it. Nothing can be further from the truth. I can ride ANY terrain a skier can and I can ride as fast as all but the fastest of fast skiers (and even them I'll make work for it). I'll ride powder, icey groomers, heavy crud, wide open bowls, steep narrow chutes...you name it and yes, I'll even charge the moguls. And while not the easiest thing to do on a board I can traverse a mountain very well if need be. I dare any skier to follow me and then claim I ruined the snow. So many skiers think that snowboards flatten moguls or scrape off the powder....I NEVER do that, I have NEVER done that (my skier dad would have killed me). Add to that the fact that I'll be in my bindings off a chair as quickly as most skiers can put their pole straps on and you'll find that you never have wait for me (the only place I sit down is on the chairlift).

I come from a skiing background and do enjoy my skis from time-to-time as some conditions skis are a bit more fun, but for me it's snowboarding all the way.

I like skiing better. Skiing is easier to learn when you first start out, but snowboarding is probably easier 2 get better at later on. I have skied for 2 years but i love it so much i go almost every day of every weekend becuase i am so hooked on it. I tried snowboarding but i didnt like the feeling of being on one board becuase you dont feel like you have as much control so i stuck with skiing. Hope this helps and good luck with which ever one you decide to try!

Skiing. I'm too old for snowboarding! I remember reading Dave Barry's column on why us older folks shouldn't even attempt snow boarding. He's older than I am, but even so. . . He talked about the thrill he felt when he first stepped on a snowboard, and then the horrible pain he felt, 17 milleseconds later, as the back of his head hit the ground so hard it set off earthquake warning alarms in Peru.

At my age I've learned to benefit from other people's experiences.

I ski race....you can't snowboard race in most places. Skiing is about working together with your two ankles. Snowboarding is basically knees and upper body. Skiing is more in control yet also can go faster than a snowboard because of the turning radius. Skiing ROCKS!!!

He became into snowboarding on a eco-friendly run and fell and hit his head no longer common. He fell returned on a later run (no longer almost as no longer common) and became into knock subconscious. He became into airlifted to a well-being facility and interior of hours from the twist of destiny he had strategies surgical treatment. Then became into in a coma for 2 weeks and the Dr's did no longer comprehend if he became into going to stay or die. He became into wearing a helmet yet that did no longer make a difference. What saved him became into the undeniable fact that he became into 28 years previous. while you're making skiers and snowboarders positioned on helmets they are going to be renting them on the hill (as my husband did). as quickly as a helmet gets into an twist of destiny as quickly because it is now no longer affective. there is not any way for a ski hill to visual reveal unit that. i think of helmets are super and if we ever went and skied or snowboarded returned we would actual positioned on one. My component is this became right into a thoroughly freak twist of destiny and announcing that it would of been prevented had she been wearing a helmet isn't the case in any respect.Skiers fall many times with out doing any injury. All skiers would desire to be made conscious that a head injury would properly be extreme, even nevertheless no longer something exhibits and that they sense high-quality, and get it regarded at as we communicate. If a skier falls and is no longer able to arise or loses awareness, they might desire to be taken care of with the aid of the Ski Patrol and despatched for scientific interest. regarding extreme skiers, using a helmet would desire to be the norm. when you consider that they are determining directly to place themselves right into a extreme danger difficulty, then they might desire to additionally positioned on the needed protection kit and be arranged to take the implications of any mishaps.
