I can kick my own @ss at the gym; I'm a bit of a masochist. I have never worked with a trainer, but I think I would get distracted having someone watch me and yell at me to get going; it would have the opposite effect, LOL.

It only depends on motivation. That's the trainers job, to motivate you. I sometimes have troubles gettin myself to workout, but when u think of how much it helps and improves your health, thats a big motivator right there.. A trainer could be a good idea for the first few months until it becomes routine...But that could cost..

I like having someone there. I don't have a trainer, but I take a TON of cardio classes. It's easier for me to get through a workout without quitting if they are there screaming at me not to stop! Oh, and threatening to add on more lunges if I don't get going!

both it depends on what kind of person you are. are you someone that is actually capable of pushing yourself or are you someone that will need someone to push you for yourself
