Yes, it should be returned to Egypt
The Rosetta stone was stolen from Egypt during colonial times.
- It was made by the ancient egyptians
- Was discovered in Egypt
- Holds the secrets of Hyrogliphics
and I am sure the Egyptians are more than capable of handling it since they are already handling 1/3 of the planet's ancient monuments just fine.

Well i think it is more accessable to people where it is. It is cheaper for most people to go to London then to fly to Cairo. Plus I don't think the National Musuem in Cairo is free like the Museum in London. I saw the Rosetta stone there and since I haven't been to Cairo I wouldn't have seen it. I think there is enough antiquity to go around right now.

What do YOU think....Egypt used to have 1/3 of the overall of the world's ancient artifacts (A TRUE FACT WHICH ANY WEBSITE OR BOOK WILL STATE THE SAME RESULT,FEEL FREE TO LOOK IT UP!)
Countless of them are being either smuggeled by foreigners, or by egyptians themselves (but mostly foreigners, who's numbers to get caught in airports startted to increase throught these last several years! :-)
ANYWAYS, I drifted off-topic...so if it wasn't a gift then it should go back to it's original owner...owning what's not originaly yours is stealing in ANY case...
But I'm not entirely against that since it's true that it might be safer being out of Egypt for now...

It's being well cared for, so no it shouldn't go home. Besides, don't they have enough problems coping with the number of artifacts they already have?
