what does it matter whether you are born into a culture with certain charcteristics or choose to become a part of that culture? there are a lot of people that think its being "fake," but how are the values they adopt any more real? we all choose how we live, and what features we adopt. is a person who is of, say, native american descent, who loves chinese culture and decides to dress, act, and talk chinese being "untrue" to himself? he, and you, are more than ancestry. as long as it is really your desires you are following, and not ones that are externally imposed, its hard to say that you or the native american aren't being "true" to yourself. The people that laugh at white people who adopt "black" mannerisms, but themselves have mannerisms that were imposed on them by society are truly the blind ones.

If suburban white guys can't rap or speak ebonics, then by all means urban blacks shouldn't be allowed to go to college and become CEOs of major corporations.

They generally DON'T, but it's not because they're not allowed, just because they tend to not have the proper opportunities and attitudes.

Rap if you want to but why would you assume a fake speech impediment (Ebonics)?

I'll go even further. NO ONE should rap or speak the so-called "Ebonics" ("Black talk").
