I head that depending on how furry a caterpillar is tells how the winter will be.

I have heard that the fuzzier the Caterpillar, the more he tickles!

That is supposedly true. If the caterpillar has extra fur, then it is supposed to be a long cold winter

I don't know how to do it, but the caterpillars probably do. Maybe we should ask the one on Alice in Wonderland that smokes all day on the mushroom.

It is quite possible. People have been following things like that for years.... like watching the birds and squirrels to see how much they are putting away. Or if the shrubs have "extra" berries, then it is believed that God is providing for a hard winter.

I've heard that one too, but I've never tested the theory.
I've also heard that if a deer gets his antlers early in the year, it will be cold by Halloween.....
