YES!!! The parents need to realize that it IS their job to raise the kids, teach them values, good character, etc. The teachers job is to provide them with knowledge! A lot of time is used in the classroom fixing things that should have been taught at home. However, because there are too many parents that do not help their kids, who else is going to try but the teacher?

Not unless the teacher misuses their role, but then only that teacher would be the one accountable. Any teacher that doesn't misuse their role and goes by the state and school laws, should be allowed to keep teaching and not have their role minimized.

No, a teacher's role should not be minimized. For a lot of kids that is the only positive adult they have in their lives.
