Benefits of marriage:
1. You always have someone who cares for you, with you and shares your likes and dislikes.
2. You have someone to share the chores with. My husband and I share the job of cleaning up the kitchen after meals, cooking and cleaning the house. So while you only have to clean up after yourself, you have to do it alone, while I clean up after 5, I have help.
3. You have someone to have children with.
4. You have someone who will grow old with you.
5. If you are ill, you have someone who will take care of you. Hold your hand and lose sleep while you are in a hospital (seen both sides of that coin).
There are studies that show married people live longer than singles, because when you start complaining of some pain or other, you have someone who will prod you into getting medical attention, where if you are single, you don't have that.

Marriage can be a wonderful experience as long as you take the time to choose someone wisely! If you don't, you will be very miserable, and can ruin many lives besides just your own (ie: kids) Be patient if you are looking, singleness is necessary in finding out for yourself who you really are. That is what happens to alot of people, that want to grow up too fast...they run off and marry the first person they find, whether because of societies pressure, pregnancy, or infatuation. The key is compatibility...find the right person, and you will have a life long of happiness and real love and joy. Act with haste, and you probably will be very sorry! Good question by the way...God bless

Being married is wonderful if you're committed to making it work through, as the minister says "for better and worse, for richer and poor." You will always have a partner to help shoulder the burden, share the joys of happiness and success, and an intimacy that you will not find, and shouldn't want to find, outside your marriage. You will feel like your partner is your second half, like you're two puzzle pieces that no one else will match. Marriage should be a kind of spiritual fulfillment, whether you're religious or not; you should be able to look at your spouse and feel like you are loved, accepted, and satisfied. If I sound like I'm rambling, all I can say is that marriage is a wonderful range of experiences and discoveries. I've been married for 12 years; we've had four children, and I can't imagine being more fulfilled than I am when I'm with my husband and family. It's a reward that I'm not quite sure I'm worthy of, but I am so grateful for having.

married people live longer - been proven statistically. They're healthier as a group - there are wonderful tax benefits in many countries, as marriage is seen as a good thing for society. Heck, no one's their own boss, we all have jobs, moms, neighbors and lots of others telling us what to do. In a good marriage, you're already complete, you're not looking for a missing part, but the other person brings you much joy, pleasure, and will take out the trash!

Besides the obvious benefits of being committed to each other, there are also many legal benefits. For instance, if you just live with someone or date forever, and that person has a medical emergency, you have no rights to make decisions regarding their medical care, funeral, etc. (There may be exceptions to this, if the person has it in a living will or advanced directive...but if you're a spouse, it's automatic.) Your spouse can also be on your insurance plan, receive part of your social security benefits if you die, etc.

Marriage = tax break...the satisfaction or joy of knowing someone digs you enough to make that committment...
Re health, studies tend to show that married people's health tends to be better than that of singles...and I believe they live longer...
In the right relationship, you can be married and still 'be your own boss'...and be able to do what is needed for you sometimes, other times there will be compromise or sacrifice...
There are plusses and minuses to each...people need to weigh those and decide which is right for them...at different times in their life, that may vary...

to each perosn its, its own rewards. SOme people are comfortable being alone, doing things, activities on there own. Other arent. So people enjoy finding someone to spend excusive time with and thats great. I have been married twice, as long as you go into a marriage with no "fairy tale" expections and go into it with a level head, and love, then u will benefit eachother. Give and take, you know?

There are benefits to each and negatives to each. I have been both. It is the correct thng to do if you want to have kids.....DUH!!! I have friends who are middle aged and have never been married and have no children. I see the sadness of not being connected to the future through children which leads to grandchildren. Having a bond with a child who goes on to have a child is by far the best benefit of all. Of course I was there when my child was born and I was lucky enough to be in the room when my daughter gave birth to her daughter.....that is why we are all here.

Well, all those things you said make sence, but the reason people should get married, is cause they love the person they are with, and only want to be with them... they want to be with them in all ways, but not wont to live in sin, so being married, is really best if you love the person..... cause you have that life long love, and won't go to hell, for having sex, with out being married........

You get children, it's amazing to look into your own eyes and see what LOVE, God, you and your husband/wife has made. It's a miracle, love is a miracle and so it marriage, you have to work hard at it but you have to work harder being single. It's not cool to be married, you have to be in love and you know when that happens, it's not a "cool" thing it's a beautiful commitment between spouses and God.
