As I literally get cut, and bleed, EVERY day at work, and work out in the elements (and haven't we all been sweating a lot lately here in the U.S. from the weather!?!), I have decided I need to do my own thing - the corporation is simply not very reciprocative.

I AM in a business that I truly love - automotive salvage/recycling - some say the "junk" business - but I see much more. I have sufficient land available, and it is located in a rural, mountainous region, where there would be virtually no competition within at least an hour/50-60 mile radius. However, someone mentioned to me today that he didn't believe the federal government was allowing any more "yards" of this type to become established. Is anyone familiar with such a moratorium?

The Feds have almost no say in the matter at all unless you have hazardous materials issues, in which case you will need to deal with the EPA. You will need to check with your state and township licensing boards to find which compliance issues you will face.

Hope this helps!
