Yes hun, HPV is a sexually transmitted disease. It can cause warts, but it's not warts. Only certain strains (there are all kinds....) can produce warts that someone else here already had mentioned. It's not curable and millions of people have this disease, most not even knowing it.

HPV (Human Papilloma Virus) is a sexually transmitted disease. That means that sexual contact is necessary to spread the infection. You can get them during oral, vaginal, or anal sex with an infected partner. You can also get them by skin-to-skin contact during vaginal, anal, or (rarely) oral sex with someone who is infected. You cannot get it through shaking hands or using the same toilet seat.

Here is a very helpful link. Genital warts are only seen in 1-2 out of every 100 cases.

human papilloma virus is the fancy name for warts. Genital warts is spread thru genital contact, and it is very pervasive so even condoms don't provide too good of protection. It's so common that, if you're moderately sexually active, good chance you've got it. If yer a girl, get regular pap smears and be as careful as possible

yes human papiloma virus. it's very common. my roomie has it. she had it for a long time and never new she had it. sometimes docs have a hard time finding it. she never showed symptoms until just a couple of months ago. you can't get it from a toliet seat. unless the last person who sat on it has a cut on their genitals and you get blood in you. it's true it can cause cervical cancer. men rarely show any signs of it so the woman usually gets the grunt end of it.
