Well, for anyone, first take a deep breath, try to cast away your shyness, do your best to open up. Don't spill out anything embarrassing, just try to be yourself. Be open to a point where you feel like there won't be any word vomit spilling out.

If you're in school (like me), whenever I'm in a class full of people I don't know, I turn to the person next to, in front of, behind of, or across from me, and I say "Hi, I'm Susie, what's your name?" If it's someone who doesn't seem friendly, well just ignore it, they clearly don't want to be spoken to. Even if you are shy, I'm sure there will be people who will go up to you trying to start a conversation with you. Whatever you do, don't give off a vibe that you don't want to be spoken to (unless you really don't). People make friends based on vibes. After all, don't you ever get the feeling from someone that they're really friendly or that they just don't want to be spoken to?

Remember, take a deep breath, keep your eyes open and for conversation starters:

If it's a stranger, either introduce yourself, or ask them a question based on where you are. You can also adopt a silly, carefree nature, just don't go overboard. People like those whom are loose and that they can talk about anything to, not retards.

If it's like a friend's friend, or a schoolmate, do what I said before, just introduce yourself, everything will pick up from there.

Always smile! Good lucks to you!

1. Say "Hi".
2. Smile.
3. If you need to start a conversation, say something like " What music do you like?" or " What do you like doing when you hang out?".
4. Listen! You'd be surprised - the most popular people in any group are the good listeners because people like talking about themselves!
5. Email me if you want more ideas. I used to be painfully shy so I know what it's like. By the way, I'm in Australia so I'm not trying to stalk you ( I assume you're in the U.S.) and it's 11pm Tuesday night here so I might be asleep if you email me! It could take a while to get a response! :-)

Be yourself! If you try to go "out of your element" you'll end up feeling even more shy. Find something that interests you and use that as a conversation starter. A movie? Music? Anything that people can latch onto. Just relax, be you, and you'll be fine :)

i became into rather shy, till ultimately I have been given my first actual boyfriend who observed how shy i'm.. so he got here up with this "questions interest" to play on the telephone or throughout dinner or maybe throughout a walk.. its like "spin the bottle" different than its only the two one persons, we ask with the aid of the turn.. u ask sumthin, he solutions (like, whilst became into ur first crush, etc... y'knw) And its his turn to ask, u answer & so on.. the solutions u the two supply open a lotta opportunities for communique the two on the spot & in a protracted time.. Now - even tho' we broke up years in the past - I nevertheless play this interest with different adult males (a crush, a boyfriend) each and every time i've got confidence like we desire a convo-set off.. It on no account failed me ;) best of luck lady

talk about something that you know about or listen to what someone has to say and give your imput. find out what people are intrested in and talk about that. I don't know much about you but if your in school then maybe you could talk about a sport that that person may be in. try to avoid talking about yourself too much.

to be less shy you just have to get it in your head that it you can go up and talk to that person. what do have to lose.

I'm the same way, best way is to not give an S word what people think, say what you feel and want, and either people will like you or they wont.

Notice something about people you talk to and comment on it, or compliment them about it. That can start a conversation with anyone else who feels like having one
